Burt's Bees Soothingly Sensitive Body Lotion

Another long named product I've been loving. A new favorite, Burt's Bees Soothingly Sensitive Aloe & Buttermilk Body Lotion was such a surprise product because a friend had given this to me. I honestly wouldn't ever have thought about purchasing this because it just wasn't on my radar.
My journey with lotions has been a sort of patchy(long spiel ahead). I wasn't really picky with using any type of lotion for most of my life. But a few years ago I had a major allergy/reaction on my skin, especially my hands and feet. It was an excruciating, cant go to sleep kind of allergy. I didn't go to a doctor to get it checked(no insurance/hate going to doctors), but determined that it was because of a certain lotion and/or soap I was using. So I simply changed all of my soap and lotion products and made sure they were all hypo-allerginic and for sensitive skin, and my allergy did go away. I used Vaseline's Intensive Rescue Repairing lotion for a long time because it was hypo-allerginic and unfragranced. I also started using a Dial soap that is hypo-allergenic as well, which is the only soap I use till this day. I no longer use the Vaseline lotion because I'd like to try other products now. So I've been carefully and selectively trying out new lotions. I've come across a few that I've really liked such as Bliss Lemon+Sage Body Butter. Which reminds me that I should do a review on that product...
Burt's Bees Soothingly Sensitive lotion is a very runny lotion. The consistency is very much like buttermilk which was a little odd getting used to because it would seem like I was putting buttermilk all over my body. The smell is very pleasant, musk and aloe. It's pretty enjoyable to slather on and the scent lingers for many hours. I originally wouldn't wear a lotion that is too highly fragranced, but much of the fragrance in this product is natural. Well in the long run it hasn't affected my skin at all since I've been using it.
As with all of Burt's Bees products it is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, and petrochemicals. I would definitely purchase this product(I can't say repurchase, considering it was given to me).

Has anyone else tried this?

  2. Never tried any Burt's Bees products but have been eyeing their lemon cuticle creme. Glad to hear that this body lotion worked well for you - it's great when a gift exceeds our expectations and becomes something we'd purchase for ourselves! :)
