Bdellium Tools 780 + 781

If there was something lacking on my vanity it would probably be nice makeup brushes. I actually only own one mac brush because I could never bring myself to spend $30+ on a single brush. My brushes either come from the craft store or Costco. So I stumbled upon these Bdellium brushes when I was at a beauty supply store and saw that their price wasn't too scary. A sales associate there told me that they were really comparable to Mac brushes so I decided to purchase two of them from their studio line, the crease 781 and pencil 780. Now I was looking around other blogs to see other reviews and I found that these do get a lot of praises(yes I'm late to the party).
From their website:
Bdellium Tools Studio Line of brushes are makeup tools designed from top grade materials and assembled by hand for a superior quality. Each and every brush showcases the flawless application medium that is Bdellium Tools. From precisely shaped brush heads to balanced mixtures of natural and/or synthetic hair bristles, the luxuriously lacquered long wooden handles of the Studio Line will give you optimum control and comfort resulting in a perfect application time after time. All of the Studio Line brushes are treated with an antibacterial agent on the bristles.

I'm wondering what it means when they say treated with an antibacterial agent on bristles. Does that mean that once I wash them the agent will wash off? Well the brushes are actually made quite well, it feels like good quality. The bristles themselves are also pretty good. I know I'm definitely not an expert but this is of course just my two cents. I have not seen them shed and they are relatively soft. Not the softest, but not like razorblades to your eyelids. I have washed them once, and they easily stay their shape and do not fray. It might look it on the closeup picture of the 781 but that was one hair that I just snipped off and the rest do behave. The 780 is great for highlighting the inner eye socket and smudging eyeliner.

These are great for their price and I think will last a long time through frequent washes. I'm really gonna try and invest in some great quality brushes in the future. I've been eyeing the new Chanel brushes that just came out.

These retail for around $10 in beauty supply stores but they also sell them on Amazon for a little less.

ps. This is a scheduled post. I'm probably on the East Coast now taking a nap. ;-P

  1. I like the shape of these, I'm actually looking for something similar. I don't have many high end brushes, I use really cheap ones mostly for my eye makeup. I bought a few Real Techniques and Ecotools brushes that I think are great. Hope you're having a great time on your holiday right now :)
